La poesia de la comida
In this project we were instructed to choose any spanish speaking country and research a traditional food. We also created poems based on the food or in my case, a specific ingredient in the food. After we completed our poems we cooked the food we researched and exhibited our food and poem to the public.
I enjoyed this project however I do not think my food tasted the way it should. I should have cooked the food a couple times before exhibition so I could work out all the kinks. The exhibition was very fun and it was awesome to see all the different foods from different parts of the world.

Children's Story Project
In this project we chose a spanish-speaking country to research and wrote a children's story about a certain aspect of that country. We had to illustrate a book and write the content. We presented our stories to a 2nd grade spanish class at Needham Elementary School.
I wrote my story about Honduras and the ruins in Copán. It was cool to incorporate the historical ruins into a children's story. I really enjoyed presenting my story to the 2nd graders at Needham. This was one of my favorite exhibitions this year.

Dia De Los muertos project
Dia de los muertos means day of the dead, it is a widely celebrated holiday in many Latin American countries. This is a day when families pay respects to the deceased. It is believed that on this day the dead can communicate with the living for just one night.
I chose to write my poem about my Grandma. I only knew her until I was about eight. Through this project I was able to research and ask my dad all about her life. I enjoyed learning about my family and it was cool to present it to the public.
Here is a poem about my Grandma called a Calavera
Ella mira y escucha a naturaleza.
Ella no necesita nada.
Mi abuela suena con un mundo mejor.
Ella va a aventurarse siempre.
